DIY Painted Flower Basket

I have one basket left from a pair, I bought a couple years ago. They were adorable when I first got them with brightly colored stripes. I’ve definitely gotten some good use out of them and you could tell by how faded my last basket was. Throwing it away wasn’t an option, so I pulled out the paint and made this DIY Painted Flower Basket. It’s bright again and full of life again and I love how it turned out.

This is the dull basket I had to work with. It didn’t even have a handle anymore.

I used the new chalk paint from Wal-Mart for this project and it worked like a charm. I painted the rim of the basket first and then the entire rest of the basket black.

The back of a pencil works perfect for making polka dots. I used a large marker to make some larger circles and then I painted some leaves onto the basket.

I gave it a quick spray with a sealer and then placed my flower basket into my new DIY painted flower basket.

Isn’t this basket adorable? I love how it looks now and love showing it off to all my neighbors. It’s so simple to take something “blah” and turn into something you actually love.
