Floor Lamp to Flower Pot

So I got this floor lamp at the thrift store but never intended to use it as a lamp. I had a general idea but until I could get it apart, I was not sure how I was going to do it.
I tried to research the lamp but could not find a lot on it. So I proceeded to tear it down, clean it up and give it a new life.
I am kind of obsessed with this green and I thought it would mimic a stem without being an obvious green. I took a wire basket and painted it the same color. I attached it to the metal that was outside the socket. Then I took the metal "shade" turned it upside down and made a flower pot out of it. There is a hole in the "bowl" so you have to put a potted plant in it. The flowers on the wire basket are made from pop tabs from soda cans.
And the finished product with a potted plant!

how did you make the little flowers out of soda tabs? They are so cute!! I like the lamp/planter, too.

@Cathy Murphy ~ you wire them together, over lapping them at the base. Then I painted them. Once dry you can take beads and hot glue them in the center to cover the wire (you could use bread ties too).
