We had tons of formula tins left last summer and I decided to make an herb garden from it. It was such a breeze! And it looks super colorful, brightens up our backyard and I have an endless source of all the herbs straight to my kitchen!

Wash formula tins and remove the label

Soak your formula tins in soapy water, remove the label and dry them out. I used tins from HiPP formula.

Spray cans with an outdoor paint

I used Rustoleum spray paint that sticks to anything. Use an old box as a shield to protect spray paint from getting everywhere. The colors are so vivid and bright. It's our second summer using these cans and the color is still strong!

Drill holes for drainage

When the paint dries, drill holes for drainage. I used my drill but I think you can do it with a nail and a hammer.

Add soil

Fill up with a potting mix and plant your heart away! I planted tons of parsley (since we love it so much), dill, basil, rosemary. Thyme was a bit on a slower side to sprout but it was also great to have it!

Put it on a ladder and label

I found this ladder for a couple of bucks on Facebook market place and it was perfect for my little herb garden! I labeled it with a simple masking tape, but there are tons of cute garden labels that you can DIY!

Happy gardening! If you are looking for more DIY projects, visit my website and YouTube :)
