There is a mystery with my and my neighbour's house numbers. My house is on the odd number side of our street - number 31.
I am flanked by numbers 27 and 33.
So where is no. 29? No one knows...neither the town council nor Google maps!
Our explanation to visitors who notice this, is that no. 29 is really Hogwarts, the entrance is secret and for special people only....

Anyhow, it was time to update our plaque and in order to do this, I looked around for things I already had.
To the rescue came this hand painted slate tile, done by an unknown artist "Vera" . It was bought years ago at a rural handcraft market and has stood the test of time in various positions outside.
I washed off the dust, painted numbers on and waited for it to dry.
After unscrewing and removing the old plastic numbers, I wound some wire around the stretch hook at the back and attached it to the existing post. Then, on the supports, I glued a native clay pot and guinea fowl ornaments. These have also been outside in the garden for ages and survived all sorts of rain and hail storms.
