I decided to update my outdoor facade & add a way to display my house number more prominently. I wanted to use some reflective house numbers & a planter box that I could change out seasonally. I had this little box hanging around forever & couldn't figure out what to do with it. This little project finally occurred to me & here is how I put it all together.
I got a little ahead of myself & forgot to take a pic of this totally unpainted. So here is the little planter box, partially painted. I used Art minds pickling paint. I love this stuff, since it leaves such a soft finish, while giving an aged look all at the same time! It's great for wood, especially when you're doing projects like this!
Here is my jar of Art minds paint- so you can see the exact shade I used.
My reflective numbers for the planter- even the flash makes them reflect! I used glue to put these in place instead of the little nails that come in the kits.
I put craft foam inside the planter to hold my flowers & some burlap ribbon, to disguise the foam, between the slats in the planter.
I used a variety of fall flowers in my planter. i can change these out each season, which is what I just love about this. I can add different picks, battery lights, or anything i want to it really- super versatile!
The chain I used to hang it up outside.
I added some light chain to the sides & back to loop through so I could hang it up. I have vinyl siding & ended up putting in 2 screws to hold the chain.
Here it is with all the flowers inside.
& here the finished product, with the numbers in place. That flash really does make for serious reflection! WOW
