How To Decorate Spring Planters Two Ways

Ayda Algin of Cafenohut blog created this incredible DIY Project for The Craft Cafe over on the blog. You can make these for your own home or to give as a gift. It's so simple to recreate and you can get cups from a thrift shop or consignment store (if you're in the US)
First up, try to wrap the material around the cup and eyeball 3/4 of the way up the cup and make a little mark. That's where we will want to cut. If you decide to use napkins instead of material, they come in 3 layers. You will need to separate the layers before you decoupage onto the cup or you will end up removing them by accident when the glue is dry. Apply decoupage glue to your cup or material and attach. For the most important piece of info, check out the blog post! You need to make sure the last step doesn't happen to you when you make these bad boys.
There's also a bonus set of cups that are the easiest project ever! Just using some colourful stickers that you can buy in an office supply store, get sticking to your cup! To make sure that they remain weatherproof, consider buying a proper clear varnish that isn't water based glue as the water-based glue will wash off when watering the plants. The varnish will keep them looking as new for a long time. Which is exactly what you want! These projects are so simple to make, it actually be best to create a little assembly line so you can give to your mom for Mother's day or her birthday (if she loves plants of course icon )
Obviously, you can use any stickers you fancy. There are certain scrapbooking brands that make embellishment stickers and rub ons that would work really well on these white tea cups or even bowls and plant pots.
Don't forget the varnish!
