I had some old broken crockery which I wanted to use on a terracotta plant pot to give a fresh new upcycled look.

I used wheeled tile nippers and using safety glasses cracked some pieces of yellow china saucer in roughly similar size pieces to fit along the rim edge first.

Glue onto pot

I used PVA glue straight onto the pot rim and place the pieces along side each other. To stop them sliding off I place the pot into plastic bigger pot to hold it level.

Glue crockery to pot

I work around the whole pot slowly with black and white chunky pieces that are nice match with the pale yellow top Rim tiles. You can use whatever you have available to create your own design. Keep a little space next to each tile for the grouting later.

Grouting

I begin by getting an old credit card and some ready mixed black grout. I Have plastic gloves on to protect from stain and drying effect of the grout and have some wet wipes ready to clean tiles after. Evenly Spread and work grout into all crevices.

Once finished the grout I begin wiping and cleaning excess grout off pot. I use wet wipes and it’s a little messy before the big reveal .
