How to Paint a Blue Butterfly

Learn to paint a simple but fun butterfly. Paint them on anything you like. Fabric for fun pillows, napkins or shirts. Paint a garden sign or a custom sign like this one. The tutorial has a link to a video on the blog.
Lets get started, shall we? Here is the fun blue butterfly you will learn to paint.
Start with a pattern, just free hand one. Double load your paint brush with blue and white then paint a scallop stroke. (the video comes in handy here to see how my brush moves)
Paint a modified scallop stroke to do the bottom half of the wings. Next we will paint his body.
With black paint a comma stroke using the chisel edge of your brush. Come to a point for the end of his body.
Add a few more little strokes for some wing markings.
Add a couple antennae with a liner brush. You have a pretty stroke butterfly!
