My Biggest Landscaping Job..EVER. Part 1

We bought a large piece of land and have a 10 acre " homestead". Before we built our home, garage, greenhouse, shed, etc.. it was a canola field.
It has been a lot of work but it is getting there.

This post is here, not only to show you what I have done, but to remind me when I think.. "There is so much to do.. how can I ever..." How far we have come in 2 years.
November 21 2013- we put our offer to purchase for a piece of land. This hill, is where we chose to put our house site.
The offer was accepted and we put in our driveway. We needed access. Didn't have time to wait for spring we needed to be living there by August 2014
The shell of the house was up and the deck went on,
Gardens went in around the decks very fast - I was moving perennials from one house to the other.. at this point the hard part was we had no water, gas or electricity. ( but we did have an outhouse)
By September we were in and were building ur yard and our garage.
I collected rocks - all of these are from on our property - we ended up with 4 piles like this.
And I started with the first 'detached" garden and planted 1200 tree with  my husband.
The morning view is improving.
Getting there!
And at the same time, we parged our foundation and I started on the side garden.  Thank goodness for owning a skid-steer while moving some of these rocks ( again - all from the 10 acre homestead site)
November 2014 - the reseeding canola- ( I hate this stuff) is still coming back, but I am done with landscaping for 2014 - time to work on the inside of the house again..
The back garden in spring of 2016
Getting ready to put in grass - all seed...
Side garden in the spring of 2016
April 2016..All the canola has been hand pulled after tilling 4 times and spraying twice did not remove it - now we have dirt. We had dug the pond out but had to make it deeper again, as it was spreading out too much...

I have done the rock drainage about 18" wide- my problem is keeping leaves out

None of my trees are big enough to cause that problem for me yet! Normally I use a small gravel rake to get them out ( last house)
