Learn how to paint a fairy house on a garden rock. This adorable fairy house will look great in your garden propped up next to a tree trunk. Add a touch of whimsy to your outdoor space with this fun painted rock craft. This painted rock craft is so easy to do and kids of all ages will have fun making them. I’m not sure what it is about painting rocks but it seems to be a universal craft that all kids love to do. Plus it’s pretty much free- all you need is rocks from the garden and a little acrylic paint!

Paint a white mushroom on the rock

Chose a stone from the garden and wash it. Let it dry completely and then paint a white mushroom on it.

Add details

Paint the top of the mushroom red, leaving white dots. Add a door and some flowers beside the mushroom.

Add a window

Add a yellow window and finish adding details to the flowers. Let dry between steps so the colors don't bleed together.

Outline with a permanent marker

Use a permanent marker to outline details and add lines to the window and the door. Spray with acrylic sealer if you like.

Display your fairy house

Prop the finished fairy house at the base of a tree trunk to look like a little fairy house.
