Painted Stones

I just had to give in to the painted stones trend going on these days. When I first found out that people are painting rocks and then hiding the rocks for other people to find, I said to myself that I need to get in on this action ASAP.
It’s a great idea, trying to make the world pretty with Art, one stone at a time.
Like how fun, that you are walking around and suddenly stumble on a beautifully painted stone, I know I would be super thrilled to find one.
So this is what I ended up painting on my stones.
I found these two perfectly smooth almost round shaped stones to work with.
SUPPLIES USED ON THIS PROJECT
(I went with Pink, Gold, Rose Gold, Amethyst and Sapphire color)
Stones
I really wanted to play around with DecoArt’s paints and see what the results would be of the Extreme Sheen Metallic Finish on the stones.
I started with the color Sapphire in an almost Geometric strokes.
Then layered on the Pink.
Then the Amethyst. For the last Step I used a really thin almost pointed tip paintbrush and added some dots and lines randomly all over the stones.
This was one of the Rose Gold Stones I created with Sapphire and Gold Dots and lines on top.
And that was it.
The whole project was done in under twenty minutes
Whoever started this trend did an amazing job because it is such a cute little surprise to stumble upon.
Suggested materials:

  • Extreme sheen paint
