Build a dog run, as long as you can, perhaps following two borders of the yard. Have water for the dogs to drink and to splash in.
Use a pick, hoe and shovel to break up the grassless yard, a square yard at a time. If you can be patient, work compost into the broken ground, and cover all of it with mulch. Give it a year or a season, then reseed, resod, or set out starters. Best wishes 😇
Have the same problems, what I did is, I gave my dogs there own area first I put up a makeshift fence(boy they didn't like that) I keep it up for about 6 months walk around with them and let them know this was theirs,now if they travel in a area I just say no and they go back to there play area,its little crazy at times but they will get the ideal. Now I have pretty grass in my bare area. Good Luck
