A steep hill and small patio. How hard would it be to terrace?
I’ve got a house with a good sized back yard but it’s very steep. How hard would it be to terrace? Would I need a retaining wall above the patio?

I have built short retaining walls in part of my yard. It’s hard work but can be done. You don’t say where you live or how steep the slope is. If you live in the north you can get frost heave. If you have a lot of rain you can have pressure against the wall and sudden failure. I have a friend who built small terraces in a stony hillside and created a beautiful view from her back deck.
