Any ideas for landscaping behind our pool? No plants in the ground.

We have this pool and I can’t figure out what to do to enhance the yard without digging up the soil and planting in the ground. There are pipes underneath the soil that we have to be careful not to disturb. Thanks in advance for your help.

Container plants all the way. Either matching all the way across or a mix of nicely coordinated sizes. Then you'll have loads of options for tall plants mixed with trailing plants mixed with flowering plants. You could even put your planters in place then just put gallon size (whatever fits) plants in place for each season. Make sure you use trays underneath to catch plant water. You could also install a decorative lattice and hang plants or pretty lanterns from it. Lots of options!

You could also mount planters directly on your nwall, maybe plant trailing vines in them to cover the area. Just avoid cactus, hahaha!

You might have to plant while inside the pool, but that looks like a great place for annuals and bulbs. Tulips and irises, or canna or calla or day lilies would be beautiful. I would add permanent color by painting each section of the fence a different color, or painting a simple mural on the fence. Please take photos of the steps when you decide what to do. This would make a great post for Hometalk.com. Best wishes ☺️

If you don't want plants that close to the water because of dropping leaves, why not consider putting down some type of plastic and covering it with colored glass? You can get beautiful half marbles at Dollar Tree - the blue and green would be particularly beautiful with the nearby water - and while it might cost a few bucks, it would last forever. You can also get glass "chips" that aren't sharp online that might work. I don't know what they're called. Good luck!

I wish i could post a picture of a beautifully painted fence with a scene of poppies. If you put plants in there you will have continuous maintenance with the leaves falling in the pool. I would at a strip of synthetic grass to cover the dirt

My husband and I are going to add pebble rocks to the dirt which has bark on it right now. I am adding a couple of trellises and potted plants along with a bench. It will be pretty when we are finished.
