Any ideas to transform this into bird bath/planter?

My Terra Cotta Chiminea got flipped over and cracked the bottom. I repaired the cracked area with high heat gasket sealer however it's still not usable as a fireplace anymore because direct fire melts the gasket sealer. I'm wanting to make transform it into a bird bath/planter but need ideas to make the top shallow for the bird bath! Any tips or ideas will be greatly appreciated!!
How about a big glass platter, or very large terra-cotta saucer
Place in your garden as a focal point.Find a pot the with drainage holes that will fit and plant it with annuals based on your lighting.
