I have a corner behind a 2 foot wall that has all large roots from near trees. Can't plant anything as even if I cut roots the plant can't grow. What can I do other than fill it with rocks?

You can make a container garden based on plants for your hardiness zone ,using different heights and adding a focal point.

  • I like Janet's suggestion. I would cover the area with either mulch or a tumbled pea gravel, add the container garden and maybe a shepherd's hook or two or three and add some garden art or bird feeders or humming bird feeder, whatever strikes your fancy.

Another idea would be to use river rock in the area and create a fairy garden. You can keep the plants in containers and decorate as you like. With exposed tree roots, it would look great!
