Dig a hole in the ground, as round as it is deep. Place medium size rocks in the bottom, add wood kindling (aka dry grass/weeds, must be dry, if green or wet, it will smoke). Wood must be dry and not green (2 yr old wood or more is best, it has dried out and is “seasoned for the fire). Once kindling is placed, start kindling on fire, adding fire starters and/or newspaper, keep adding medium size branches or logs and then add large logs, if desired. If you are a successful fire builder, you should have a fire, if not rebuild and try again.
