Front yard where grass won't grow because of lack of sun & trees-help!

I'm unable to water often because of mobility problem. Need some hardscaping ideas for front yard. Already have gravel driveway. Ideas on how to use big planters. Thanks.

    Inexpensive (for their size) galvanized horse/stock tanks, they can be painted, come in lots of shapes and sizes and have a drain hole already.

    Weed barrier under, mulch around them for contrast... lots of things to do and put in them... small citrus trees... etc..etc.

    Stacked cinder/concrete blocks can look nice too..

    Once you have your yard they way you like it... have someone install a drip system that can be manually operated or put on a timer... it would be worth the money to protect your investment in the plants.
