It all depends on your budget, if you like grass and its maintenance or doggie turf (which can be pricey).

Artificial turf will be less maintenance and easier to pick up the dog poo and wash off the urine, but much pricier to install. You should also consider that your dog may not be comfortable toileting on AT.
I think grass would be the better choice. You would have to pick up dog feces either way. Artificial turf might not let the dog urine go thru. You might end up with a stinky rug.
They do make pet friendly artificial grass. See what you think.
