Can you help me identify this bush?
I have a bush that has leaves similar to a chrysanthemum but it has thorns. Don't know if it's a plant or a weed! It was here when we moved in last summer.
Planter boxes on the two left windows. Moving the railing I think would make the front seem bigger. I like that. Also you could paint the garage door a contrasting color and " paint " windows on it. You could also stain the concretefor not a lot of money. Good luck
I would get rid of the railing- it would open up the front of the house. Get rid of the solar lighting. Would consider planting some trees in the front yard, along with some bushes. Maybe consider redoing the walkway. It's hard to see what's there now, but maybe some flagstone or pavers would look nice.
I would get rid of the railing, move the flag pole either between the two windows on the left or to the right corner of the garage. I like the idea of planter boxes on the two windows on the left. Once you have all that removed from the front of your house you can use flat stones to make steps all along the front porch. This gives you the whole length of the porch to step up and you can then use plants in pots at different locations to add color. Would love to see your after photos.
Remaining scrubs are too tall for that close to house, I would consider ripping them out also. I like the railing off on a skinny porch. I would opt for a bench with planters of shade loving flowers on either side of it to give you a place to relax on the front porch. Maybe add a rounded planting bed with a small flowering tree in front of the bedroom windows (to add symmetrical look of garage coming forward). Spirea bushes would add color when blooming and easily trimmed to shape in a semi circle around the tree. You could fill in with daffodils, early blooming irises, hellebore, ect. Can't wait to see some follow up photos!
