You didn't tell us what type of fence you do have now. If you have a wire fence, maybe a neighbor, can wire this addition on, and make a longer post to make it stronger, then add a bush, like a Rose of Sharon, and this w ill grow, and create your privacy that you desire. You may have to get several, but the birds love this, and the butterflies too. This comes in diff colors also. If you have a wooden fence, then maybe someone can help you make a second layer on top of your present one, with a longer post. With this, all should be fine.
Pray for the neighbors, and keep up with the bushes, espec. those that grow tall. Be speaking, but private. Do you follow me? I hope so. Best wishes, J.
Hello Liz; I feel for you, as I know exactly how you feel.
You can purchase small shrubs, which can quickly grown into large bushes.
I do not know where you reside, so if I were you, I would contact my local nursery and I would ask what shrubs do they recommend that will grown fast and that will create a "hedge"
I hope that this is helpful to you! Good Luck!
You could sister a 2 x 10 to the fence posts and add lattice to the top portion. I would be concerned with having something solid up there in a high wind.
Add something to your existing fence, lattice, bamboo, etc. Consider vining plants that grow quick.
WOW - bless you all! I currently have a 6 foot high vinyl fence and for about 16 feet of it, need that privacy. Plants will not work in this area. Since it is vinyl, should I take the tops off the posts, put wood inside the post and then seal it and then attach "something" to the wooden posts????? HELP!
