How can you get rid of a formosa tree?
-
Douglas Hunt on Jul 21, 2014This is the monumental problem with Formosa, or Mimosa (Albizia julibrissin), trees, and why many states have banned their sale. I'm pulling up seedlings all over my yard right now myself and I don't even have any idea where the nearest one is. If you have a tree of any size, cut it down and paint the cut with a foam brush dipped in an herbicide containing glyphosate. For the smaller seedlings, I think the best option is to keep pulling.Helpful Reply

Hannah V on Jul 21, 2014Hi Myra! Could you upload a photo of the tree? That will make it easier for other hometalkers and myself to give you better answers and ideas! You can add photos by clicking the upper right drop arrow and select "edit" (see screenshot). Hope this helps! :)1 marked as helpful Reply
