How do I cover a stump?

I live in a rental, so I can't do anything permanent. I'm looking for ideas to camoflage a stump left behind when the condo board had a large ugly bush removed from in front of mt living room window. The stump is about 5-6 inches across. I would take a picture, but its pouring rain right now. I would love to put a hydrangea bush there to replace it, but I don't know if I'm allowed. Thought?

i have several ideas that might work for you. Idea 1, get a large plastic or terra cota planter. Take out the bottom and set over the stump. When you fill with dirt then you can plant the hydrangea on top. Just make sure there is enough dirt over the stump to sustain growth. Idea 2, if it is only several inches high, you can just place a table or chair set over top. both of these idea will make certain the low stumps are not tripped over.

Make a container plating with colorful annuals and trailing plants.
You can get a product at the garden center that is applied and will eventually rot it. In the meantime you can plant English Ivy as a previous posting suggested for the hydrangea.
Or make the stump part of the decor! Paint or glue a purchased fairy door on the stump. You could then put some kind of plant on top.
Considering using some ivy or other vines that will grow around the stump and that you can train to grow how you want

Buy plastic, resin or cement animals like squirrels, mice, rabbits, frogs, etc. at garden centers, craft stores, or Walmart. As long as the animal has a hole in its stomach side, you just hammer in a long nail, leaving enough nail showing to hang the animal from. You could add real or silk plants and flowers for more decoration. My sweet neighbor is such an artist at this, she has the cutest lawn on the block. Last Christmas she had three elves climbing the stump toward a pot of poinsettia and pretend lollipops.
These are all great ideas. Thank you all so much! I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to do, by the condo board. I know the front of the condoes all must look alike, unfortunately. For instance, black door can't be changed. Yuck. I might try something inexpensive, like the resin animal laces over top idea, so that it wouldn't be much of an investment if they make me get rid of it. Frankly, I don't know why anyone would want to "own" a property where they are so restricted. Just MHO. Thank you again, all!
