If you'll have to mulch, will the potential for mulch fungus (aka Artillery fungus) bother you? Note that the spores can be "shot" as far as 10-20' from the mulch and adhere tenaciously to brick, glass, siding.
Would you fill the containers with rocks, or are these decorative containers that merely need treated for environmental conditions, then weighted down?
If the latter, less is more. They could be staggered in a row, or placed in small groupings.
If you have the space, benches or bistro table and chairs between the containers may be to your liking. I'd add low voltage or solar lights that cast a design on the ground at night, for additional ambiance. You could even add lights that face your home, casting light upward, or on architectural features of your home.
Hi, Kathie,
My reply did not yet post...?
You could add benches or a bistro set amongst containers, add solar or low voltage lighting that highlights architectural features of your home, or casts designs on the ground.
Containers could be treated for environmental conditions, then staggered or grouped in settings of threes, if space permits. Varying heights would add interest.
Lay a lawn or artificial Grass maybe! A Paved area all around next to the house. Containers or Statues or Rockery etc
