Just wrap it in burlap and tie with hemp cord, or wrap it with the hemp cording. Using waterpoof glue. If it is a clay pot, the fabric will get some moisture possibly. Set the pot on a large square of fabric, pull fabric up the sides and tie around the top.
Mod Podge.............
I agree with Modge Podge!
MOD PODGE glue and fabric then spray with a sealer.
Use any fabric you love, but simple cloth like cotton blend, burlap, and polyester is easy to work with. Measure and cut your fabric as if you were wrapping a present. Don’t try for perfection. Clean the pot, turn it upside down. You can use thick starch, but I would suggest mixing 8 oz. of any white glue with 8 oz. (1 cup) of water. Dip the fabric in the diluted glue, then form it around the pot. You can leave any corners or overhang or you can trim it extra cloth, leaving an inch or two to form inside the pot edge, or to form a standup border around the edge. Use a credit card or the back edge of a plastic dinner knife to smooth the edges, flatten pleats, and push excess glue out of the shape. (One way to dry the pot and cover is to balance the pot on top of a 2 liter soda bottle. I cut the top 2-3” off the bottle to give a wider base to hold things.) Once the glue is completely dry, flip the pot and finish trimming the edges. You can add some twine or ribbon around the pot if you wish, or glue a decoration outside of the pot. For real plants, trim out a hole in the bottom of the pot. For faux flowers, fill the pot with foam, rocks, marbles or moss. Arrange/plant the flowers and enjoy. Dipping the fabric into the diluted glue (or thick starch) may take a couple of minutes, and the drying will probably take an hour. The finishing steps, maybe 15 minutes. The glue will dry clear. To use this outside, spray with several coats of polyurethane. You’ll have a lovely pot to keep or give away. Best wishes ☺️
I’d use mod Podge
Is also spray a mate poly over it once the mod Podge dries
