I would definitely use the rocks as borders for your yard, and pathways. Lately I have been taking rocks (from our huge pile o' rocks) and painting them with all the names of the kids and grandkids in our family, and placing the painted rocks around our patio.
Nice bonus. Borders and rock gardens, ponds/water features or dry bed streams, all add value to your home. Remember the weeding issue they will make for you. You may want to lay plastic sheeting or landsape fabric (and maybe mulch or gravel on top) under them first.
