i personally don't know the answer, but i do know of an outfit that should know- there is a grower's supply company in Iowa. they make green houses. i can get the leftover pieces of green house poly-carbonate panels at a nice discount. google iowa and growers supply companies.

A teepee is measured from the poles you will use. From the tie place on the poles measure to the ground. Then measure the circumference of the circle the poles make. I put a stake in the ground with a string that equals the height measurement. Tie a stick to the end of the string and mark a half circle. Measure the outside edge and add or subtract till it matches the circle made by the poles. Then add a bit more so it will overlap. I'd add ties or Velcro to make it openable or closeable.

A teepee by structure sheds water so if you have lots of rain, plan for the runoff. I used to make teepees for playhouses. I covered them with old polyester sewing material. They stayed dry inside.

Before I would use a teepee, I would use cattle panels, arched with poly over them. Simple, inexpensive, strong. You can circle the bottom w cement block, use rebar to hold the panels down..there are many ways t do it. Good luck
