I live in a mobile. Our "yard" is made up of sand. What can I grow

    Use big pots with potting soil and scatter them around the "yard" you can plant anything from flowers to herbs and veggies like tomatoes.

    To supplement Janet's answer, monitor moisture... Pots can evaporate far faster than the ground! Another way to manage this is to put the pots IN the ground. But pots will confine soil chemistry and moisture levels for a good start.

    Florida screams beach to me,illinois,so I would look for a piece of driftwood or any branch that you can fit in area and then I would attach some orchids with wire for flowers and spritz them if it gets too warm. That kind of how orchids grow in the wild since although they have roots they take moisture from humid air as in rainforest. You could also do succulents they also take in moisture from humid air.
