Yes, a picture would really help!
Hello! If you don’t have a lot of space, use window boxes with brightly colored plants. If you do have the space and maybe a tree in the front, surround that tree with some beautiful colored rock and have matching pavers lead up to your front door. If all that is too complicated, add lots of color using roses or Bougainvillea, whichever grows well in your area. Go to your local library and leaf through some home and garden books to get an idea of what looks good. Good luck!
My wow factor is purple fountain grass. It is dark green with beautiful purple plumes on it. Doesn’t require a lot of water after being established. Grows large in the full sun all day. http://www.monrovia.com/plant-catalog/plants/1935/purple-fountain-grass/
Wow is in the eye of the beholder. To me it would be a Japanese garden with a Zen rock garden. A fountain can be wow. A beautiful specimen tree like a Japanese Red Maple tree, or a gorgeous Cherry blossom tree is a wow in my book.
To some its a bunch of flower beds with beautiful Dahlias, Zinnas, etc.
To me its gorgeous Rhododendrons, peonies, azalias, fushia, hydrangea bushes.
So drive around and visit some gardens to see whats a wow to you.
