I rent, and my back yard is in need of help.

I rent, and my back yard us in need of help. I am not allowed to put down a patio or concrete so all I have to work with is grass. I have a small space between two garages to work with with some branches of trees to maybe hang some white lights from. There is a slope which prohibits a table or chairs, but further down the yard it is flat so I will add something there. Any ideas? I want to make this enjoyable to sit because this is our summer vacation this year.

Do u want a place to sit along with plants or decor or do you just want a pretty spot?

Sher, I would love a pretty spot to relax and sit, maybe read a book, have a glass of wine.
  • What can you do? Is the whole area lawn? or is there any bare spot under a tree? Pictures would help too. Do you have a budget? Because I could see you building a small movable deck -say 8x8- and using potted plants, a small bistro set or 2 comfy chairs, and maybe even an umbrella for protection. You can put shrubs in pots (which I have many) and big colorful pots can be found at Walmart for under $10. Is there any room between the garages? that may be your spot to add an outdoor room. Just some thoughts...
