Due to a business venture I've not used my garden spot for six years. Now that I'm retired I need to get it cleared of all weeds and grass to get back to raising fresh home grown produce and something for the grandchildren to enjoy when they visit their grand ole pappy. Any ideas that won't ruin the garden spot for years to come?

In order to be able to plant as soon as the area is cleared, do not use any chemicals....Kill it off with white vinegar or smother it out with heavy black plastic.Remove all debris and add garden soil

Rent a big rototiller and get ready for the fight of your life. Once its done though it will be lovely, you'll want to pull and toss out grass, weeds and roots as you go. With that done I would buy enough new soil to cover your old soil with at least 4 inches, that will help keep the old weed seeds at bay.

Bear in mind...whatever you spray on that area will be absorbed into the vegetables you plant there. ..just in case you decide to use any poison, like Roundup....

You can kill grass and weeds by spraying a mixture of white vinegar and salt on them....if that doesn't work, look up natural ways to kill weeds on the internet before you use poisons on an area you intend to use to grow food...good luck with your garden 😉
