We sit above the house next door and we only have a chain link fence separating our yards. Our deck faces their back yard. What is a cheap but chic way to make private area?

Is it possible for you to send a photo of the area your talking about? I would like to have a better idea than just making a random answer. Thank you 😀!

I meant to come back and upload a photo. Thanks for reminding me.

I also should mention we are renting.

That’s nice to have that framework already there. Rather than lattice, which is permanent, I would go with roller blinds. They also come in bamboo. Attach to the upper rail with sturdy hooks, add some hooks on the bottom rail to keep straight. Easy open, easy close, easy to remove for moving.

Also, on the left side, maybe just do something easy like a large tilt umbrella and some tall potted plants. Or run the bamboo like a fence attached to the outer rail. Let us know what you end up with 😁. Btw-where do you live?

      It’s beautiful there.

Had not thought of blinds but like it! We also get very heavy wind sometimes and they could be rolled up when needed. Thanks!

I planted bamboo. It took three yrs but they look nice now.

i don’t mean planting bamboo, oh no, just buy blinds made out of bamboo for this project.

If you plant bamboo it will take over and you’ll have a hard time getting rid of it. Just FYI.
