Do you want to re-seed the area?

So heres my thought. instead of the negative with no lawn and tree roots, how about making a low maintenance rock garden with various texture, color and varieties of plants.

You think you can fight 'Mother Nature'? Embrace your little Hobbit spot of mossy, mushroomy world. Make it a rock garden, low maintenance with a few little nursey plants that thrive in a mossy world. Possibly add a water feature, garden fence featrue, bench, make it parklike and enjoy what nature has given your to be steward of.

I like that idea! I am afraid to aerate the lawn and hurt my tree roots. Neighbors who don't like chemical fertilizers like me have reverted to white rocks on their lawn, not really my style.

  • Use mulch instead? I would love moss! Love Johnchip's ideas - embrace what you already have and enhance it. Add some solar lights and garden art.
