There are tons of great ideas for this in Hometalk and Pinterest. You can buy a fire pit at any home store, or build your own. In either case, the main things to remember are: (1.) keep it well away from anything flammable (like your house or tall grasses), (2.) place or build your fire pit on a non-flammable surface, such as bricks or pavers, and (3.) make sure it's level- you don't want it tipping over! The best way to insure this last thing is to follow instructions for making a paved walkway, ie. digging out the area, laying down gravel, then sand (leveling at each step) and laying the bricks or pavers (leveling again).

Leveling ground is very important..need to dig at least 4 inches..can buy a metal fire pit liner or just add wall stones ....will probably need a paver base gravel inside. You can also watch simple building of fire pits on UTube. Good luck and enjoy your fire pit!
Hi, we used a truck tire rim. Painted the outside and turned it to the deepest. Works great.
