One of the trade offs by living by the ocean is what the ocean air does to fences, fixtures, etc. Warped, weathered and grayed fence boards are part of beach charm. Embrace it instead of fighting it. Another option is to use more expensive wood for the fence. Another would be to replace with a different type of fence, like vinyl or one of the many other man made building materials. I would gladly have a funky fence if I could live that close to the ocean.
