PVC is not UV stable, you’ll need to paint it.
I pounded 4’ rebar into the ground and slipped 12’ pvc over it to form an arch to plant cukes, squashes and watermelon ...and a spot out of the sun to sit for a min. I also formed a bean support in the shape of a U around my garden bed and zip tied vinyl fencing to it, securing the corners by slipping it over rebar...that bean support is going on 6 years now. Thru ctwinters. I also made a chicken tractor using a wooden frame and wheels.
Ps...I made 2 arches and zip tied vinyl fence between the arches. Zip tied for the beans too.
i have never painted it. I never expected it to last indefinitely
