is it wide enough to place a chair and table then add a nice planter with some colorful plants
Probably was put there for a seating area. I would expand it out into the grass with pavers or landscape stones and make a patio. A curved patio wood look great and blend with the curved sidewalk.
I would not remove the piece of sidewalk to nowhere, easier to wash the window outside. Would put a nice planter close to the window, give it some color.
My vote is to leave as is and just decorate the area nicely. While it may be a walk to nowhere, it provides a barrier for water intrusion and erosion as the house does not appear to have rain gutters. Potted plants of various sizes can look very attractive.
Hi Dhcbaldwin,
You could use potted bushes and flowers on that part of the sidewalk or as Cheryl suggested, add a small table & a couple of chairs in the center surrounded by potted plants. Another thought would be to use a bench under the window, then add your colorful potted plants. I think that I would skip the window box for now and decorate that area. Wishing you the best.
That’s an excellent place to put your large plants that need mostly sunshine. Perhaps you could also add some outdoor “collectibles” to the area too.
Or if there’s room a covered glider and just a plant hanging .
A small bistro table maybe w/an umbrella ☂ a couple of plants ,a wind chime or so
Or if you don’t mind attaching to the house you could make planter boxes on both sides and the window making an herb garden.
If you don’t want to attach them to house you could do standing pallet gardens .
So many ideas!
Have fun and Good Luck 🍀!
Maybe a colorful ceramic garden stool, along with a few potted plants would make it a nice area to just chill or to wait for a friend to come by and visit.
