make Furniture and Bar etc. from Pallets - painted or stained. Buy 2nd hand hand planters or buy plastic and paint and plant up with seeds or annuals.

Make table from old Cable reel, or buy used and paint or stain. Lay Membrane and cover with Slabs with Gravel in between......

Map out what you would like to do. Start with only one area, getting the things you want and do that area. Do areas according to your budget that leads out from the area where you start. It may take time, but you don't have to do everything at once. Once you have some of the supplies, they will be usable on other areas also and that will help with the cost. Doing small areas at a time will be more budget friendly. Purchase what you can with the allocated portion of your budget and work the area that it covers, the next month continue on from there and so forth. You will see results on finishing one area at a time instead of spreading it out to other areas. We did this with a seating area and front landscaping that needed replacing. It took us three months, but the end result was great and we could see the progress and improvement. We did all the demo work first of removing old shrubbery and moving out existing plants we wanted to keep and potting them temporarily in old pots I had. I hope this helps you with your future landscaping project! You can do this, take your time, enjoy the outdoors and do it the way you want it.

I started picking up bricks wherever I could find them and laying them in a herring bone pattern. Because the ground was so root bound, I did not do a proper setting of the bricks. still it has lasted a long time and cost nothing.

The seating area was originally low shrubs that weren't taken care of by the people who rented the house before the owners decided to sell. That part went from the driveway to the front door steps to the side walk, so we only had about four feet to the house and we wanted somewhere out front to sit and watch the world go by, so we put down plain pavers. The other side of the front steps, we took out the shrubs that were even worse, and made it into a continuation of the hostas that ran along the other side of the sidewalk that led only to the steps and not beyond. We left the honeysuckle and another tall shrub as it gave privacy to the bathroom. We planted it all with new hostas and the few that were already in the area. This is all on the north side of the house, with a huge elm and a maple that is at least four foot across, not around, so only the east corner really gets any sun until a little bit of late evening sun, so I stuck to pretty much hostas. We did make the other area like our little jungle, I have two huge half barrels that have elephant ears and coleus that are on each end of the seating area, I keep two citronella geraniums on the end tables and five hibiscus on the end by the driveway. We also put two hanging plants in the hostas along the sidewalk for a little more color. Sorry I can't send pictures right now, because there is nothing to take pictures of right now here in Minnesota except for snow.
