I have 4 big ever green trees there that I planted as little seedlings 25 years ago, therefore grass has wilted.

It is almost impissible to grow grass under evergreens. Have you considered landscaping with mulch under the trees?

evergreen produce an acid soil...grass will not grow under it...I have seen people put down beautiful coloured mulch....just do not raise the level around the roots....they come out of the ground for a reason.....I have seen people pile on topsoil to get the roots covered...only to kill the tree

Hi Joan, I'm afraid I agree with Judy. Grass will not grow well under Evergreens Have you considered mulching? Or maybe plant some Hostas. They love shade. Or maybe put a bench under the trees and enjoy 25 years worth of growth. Hope this helps. Good luck.
