Bank receives 4 to 6 hours of direct sun daily . Also is L shaped which means I have additional planting space. We just had a brick wall installed to keep from deteriorating. Attached I have a view of how looks now .

Hostas work great and come back every year. Check out Brecks web site for perennials that require the amount of sun you have and what zone Your in. You could plant perennials that would bloom spring, summer and fall. Good luck and happy planting!!

Phlox for sun, hostas for shade, hydrangea for partial sun. Lirithope are good ground cover. Yews for bushes.

Creeping juniper is a good low shrub. I used Phlox for spring, Periwinkle or Vinca for summer. It really depends on what Zone you are in.

You may want to think about some taller bulbs like a variegated iris in the back with creeping phlox in front or some other shrub. If you like iris this particular variety will keep it's leaves and provide some nice color all year round...it's leaves are green and white...both creeping phlox and iris are low maintenance can withstand full sun. Iris thrive in poor well drained soil. The phlox might eventually trail over the side and give a waterfall effect. Good Luck!

It's pretty hard to make a suggestion because it looks like you already have a hedge there that I don't know if you'll keep. Also the wall looks so high that any small plants won't even show....
