What is the best thing to weather proof wood garden ornaments?

I'm doing a full fairy village in my backyard with antique and other "found" collectibles.

I don't know if it will be big enough, but you can buy Clear Plastic Victorian Domes to go over plant's to protect them for the winter. You secure them by using large "U" shaped metal retaining hooks. Might be worth you white to check them out. Small Med and Large and extra large.....(You can also ventilate them too.............Good luck - sounds magical.......

I weather-proof all my wooden garden ornaments, plant labels, etc. by: 1. Sand them, 2. Paint them with any brand of outdoor paint with primer in it, then 3. Seal them with any brand of Marine, Clear Sealer. Mine last for years without losing their colors, etc. Hope this helps.
