I have a smaller but full yard, trees, lots of shrubs and flowers. I start in Oct clipping back hydrangas, etc., and work each week about two hours all year long. Not when it is raining, but I bag my green waste and during the rainy season put the green waste in my garbage cans. My green waste is picked up twice a year : April and Sept. I put out about 36 bags each time. Just start and do a bit at a time. It will work if you do.
If I were in your shoes, I'd hire someone to Brush Hog that overgrowth. It will be easy to keep mowed after that.
Before answers should be given what shrubs are you referring to?
Like these suggestions. After you have this done, I would try and turn some of this area into a patio spot with stone walkway, flat stone patio eating are etc. and THEN the plantings. That way you will be cutting way back on the actual growth part of the yard.
no specific names or pictures are needed to answer your question.I am not on to second guess a answer.I always as best as I can and with my knowledge answer with the proper information.
