Why is it so hard to find someone who can do landscape stone work.

Live in Pleasant Grove Alabama, had two back surgeries and one cardiovascular surgery. I have a large flower bed job that I did 4-5 years ago and it's in need of redoing. It was my first attempt at stone work and I didn't get it quite right and now it has settled. I would be willing to help with what I can do, but my wife doesn't want to plant anything till the walls of the bed are right. Help....

  • Oh dear me, I know how you feel, as I too have had multiple surgeries. Took me 20 days to find an electrician to fix something for me.

All I can suggest is to inquire at your local stone yards for referrals, perform a Google search for local stonemasons or landscapers, check the adverts in the local paper, even pull out the good old yellow pages! Sooner or later you will find the needle in the haystack, sometimes all it takes is persistence. Just be patient and do not give up!

I agree with Naomie. They are out there. The problem is many don't want to fix a job. They want to do a job from scratch. That's where the money is. I know Home Depot has a list of contractors they can refer that purchase material from them. I once was registered with them when I had my remodeling business.

I also find great stonework professionals by asking at a specialized stone yard.
