Thrifted Planters Get Zinc Makeover

When looking to add dimension to your decor, whether indoors or out, there's no need to pay big bucks. You can find all sorts of containers that make wonderful planters and can be changed to create a lovely vignette, all with some paint.
We're in the middle of a major patio makeover and I'm sticking to a budget. Come see how I've taken two thrifted planters, both plastic and metal, and gave them a faux zinc makeover for a few dollars
Here's a sneak peek at what's been going on our home. We've been redoing our patio DIY style and these planters are helping to set the stage.
These two thrifted planters can be made to create a lovely vignette in a few hours of dry time. All done with paint, they're ready to go.
Since one of the planters is plastic, I use a special primer to get a durable finish.
After creating the base coat, a light wash give the planter dimension and an expensive Restoration Hardware appeal.
What a unique look and all for a few hours of dry time and I didn't break the bank. Come see how to create this look yourself over on the blog.
