Trash to Treasure - Repurposing a Broken Lantern Into Garden Art

With such windy conditions here Southeast of Chicago, I sometimes go through a lot of goodies that I leave outside, because the winds can do a lot of damage. When this lantern was damaged even it's protected area (my front porch) I knew I couldn't throw it away.
I raided my husbands scrap steel bin and enlisted his help to weld and secure some rusty decorative pieces to it.
Here is the lantern. Glass is all broken out of it.
Then he welded a nice large (and heavy) stake to it, also found in his scrap bin.
Now I have a pretty piece of yardart. One winter and this baby will have a nice rusty patina on it. I can't wait!
I can this piece being filled with pumpkins/gourds in the Fall, greenery in the Winter, Blooms throughout the Spring and Summer!

Rustic & Refined on Jul 01, 2017Thanks. I made that out of a fence post, a finial and some paint. The hook is a planter hook, the finial I found t a thrift store and I screwed it a together an spray painted it.
