Wrought Iron Stand Makeover

So if you seen any of my posts from the summer you will know one of my favorite hobbies is collecting stuff from my hometown dump. One of my last finds before summer ended was a wrought iron stand. I was very excited to bring this piece home. I had many ideas for this but chose to use it outside in my garden.

So here is my stand. Can you believe someone actually threw this out? So my first step was pretty easy . It was simply cleaning the dirt off of it with soap and water.

Next step was to freshen up with a coat of paint. I chose this Lagoon blue color.

It matches the color of my gazebo post project.

After my stand dried I laid it down to paint.

I covered the stand with one coat of paint and let dry.

Here it is dried and ready to be placed in my garden.

It fits perfectly between my two trees.

Next I had an old mirror and I attached it to the upper part of my stand using wire.

Next I added my fall mum I purchased at my garden center. It fits perfectly in the opening.

I added a wreath I had around the mirror and some leaf garland to the bottom to tie it in to my fall decor. I love this stand and think it will look great any season.
