My front door doesn't have a peep hole.

3po3 on Dec 21, 2011There's another alternative if you are interested. These door scopes offer a wider view than most traditional peepholes, and you can see them from farther away (ie, no putting your eye up to the peephole and letting the guy on the other side see you.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Dec 22, 2011Never tried the fancy electronic versions...the old fashioned style will work in power outages, etc. sometimes simple is better. If you do decide to go with the old standard. They come in two basic "core" sizes. If I remember right there are 1/2" and 9/16" for the basic and slightly wider view versions. http://www.peepholesecurity.com/Viewercomparison.pdfHelpful Reply

Baby H on Dec 22, 2011Thanks KMS, I just know I had issues seeing out of my last one with my other home. So I'm not familiar with them at all. I just happen to be watching" I Want that" and saw how the electronic had a wide screen where you could see out n they couldn't see in. But I agree somethings should stay simple and the above Doorscopes which Steve suggested just may be the medium between the two.Helpful Reply
