Sliding Door Security

This is not my most complicated post by a long shot.
My elderly mother just had spinal
surgery and can not bend over for 30 days.
Even before this, I thought there has to be a better way than this!

Many people do this broom
stick handle in the door track so no one could ever open it.
The problem is, the bending over part.

I've come up with a simple, free but effective solution.
The typical broom stick in the track for added security. Bending over, grabbing it and always loosing it too.
Take twine and tie tightly on one end.
Making sure to have enough twine to reach to your suction cup shown below.
I placed the suction cup on the window waist height. I choose a big hook to see easily and be big enough to loop the twine over.
This is regular cotton cooking twine. Any thin rope could be used.
Now, it's easy to pull it up because mom
just has to grab the string. The suction cup is placed all the way over so the door can open all the way.
With the attached string it's harder to loose the pole now.
It's a simple resolve thought of by necessity.

I hope this simple idea can help you too.
