Who doesn't love a beer garden on those warm summer evenings? I sure do. Come with me and see how I gave my parents a beautiful seating area.

My parents have a beautiful garden that's mature and so beautifully laid out.

Their garden is on a hill, they've sections the garden into layers with walkways.

They have a fair few seating areas in the garden but no shaded areas.

My dad built this decking a year ago for the swimming pool. They've moved the pool further down the garden this year, so place a new seating set here

Mum wanted a shaded area in the garden as the garden is a suntrap, so they bought this gazebo which came with a sliding roof, giving them the option to have it on or off.

I noticed my parents had these lights on the table. Curious, I asked them what their plans were for the lights?

They said they hadn't decided yet. They just wanted some light for the evenings.

I sent dad into his shed requesting cable ties and a cutter.

Sure enough, he had plenty of cable ties, smaller and larger ones.

They also have these beautiful hanging plants.

And hanging baskets

Using cable ties, I attached the lights and artificial plants to the structure, with everyone helping we run the lights starting from the end of the gazebo, working back and forth until we reached the front. There was enough light to do one extra layer, so mum suggested doubling in the front, as the hanging plants were there

My dad helped place the hanging baskets. We also used cable ties for this. We put the cable tie on, not pulling it tight, so there was leeway for the hook to attach.

I used a cutter to trim the ties, and tidy up the area.

We washed down the table and chairs, then placed everything back.

My parents added some floor lights to the decking, giving it their own touch.

I ran the lights back and forth, as you can see from the picture, only using cable ties.

We all helped with holding the lights up to see how many times we could run them across without running out, so we didnt measure as you would normally do.

Here was the final look. After adding artificial plants and trellis my parents had lying around

Video processing... Video processing...

Now they truly have their very own beer garden feel.

A beautiful lit up outdoor area to enjoy

Some cushions and a throw for the evenings.

This was a simple transformation with a huge effect, going from a steal structure to this in a few hours was a huge achievement.

My parents really deserved this little glow up , I'm happy I see those lights and gave them exactly what they needed.

This project cost my parents £40

The lights were under £30

The artificial trellis was a around £10

Everything else was from their garden already.
