Mason Jar Solar Light on Old Oar

Here in Southwest Missouri, on beautiful Table Rock Lake it is not uncommon to see more trucks with a boat attached at the local grocery store than cars. Old oars are in abundance here, so what a perfect repurpose of an old oar, make a solar light décor for our yard.
Notice the beautiful turquoise of the jar and the condensation inside the jar, this has all occurred in the last two years, since we hung our jar/oar décor.
We live on a hill with the lake in our backyard. The solar jar/oar décor hangs on the 2nd deck level . . . . .
and illuminates the garden below of the night. The newly purchased jar and solar lid were attached by hubby to the oar with a U-clamp.
Back of the oar showing the screws that are holding the U-clamp and jar together.
A small bird bath sits on the rail above the oar and there is a bird acorn feeder by the oar. (See the first picture)

I am not sure how the U clamps are holding the jar there.. Would it not fall right through?

There is a more narrow neck-that's where he put the U-clamp.

You can use E6000 glue to glue solar light to the mason jar lid,l on the inside of the lid but outer rim, you want to leaves the screws exposed so if you need to replace your batteries. Idid these with mine and l don't have any problems, I like the clamp idea and the blue is very pretty. Oars by the abundance, send me 2., I love this idea. The glue says 24 hours to set, I have used it on things, set them in sun their dry in 3-4 hours, I did a bird bath that took 48 hours to dry. Good luck
